Zamada works primarily with pastels (chalk and oil) on paper. His focus is on color and texture and his styling leans toward the modernist and abstract. His work celebrates bright color and texture and seeks to provoke imagination while also creating a sense of familiarity in those who view it . His work consists of five basic categories: colorblocks, faces, figures, earth life and colorblasts.
